Homeopathic remedies have been in existence far before modern medicine came into play. They are extremely effective, gentle, non-toxic and FDA approved...if that matters to you ;) They do not suppress the immune system but allows the body to heal itself naturally...the way nature (and GOD) intended.
*I believe everyone should have their own homeopathic remedy kit so that you can be prepared for any situation!
The following remedies are indicated for infants who are teething or children who wet the bed. To use, match up your child's symptoms with the corresponding remedy. Your child may not have ALL the symptoms of a listed remedy, and that's okay. Just pick the one that sounds most like your child. You can find homeopathics at any health food store, or online. vitacost.com seems to have the biggest selection and lowest price, although amazon.com is a good place to look too. Follow the directions on the label! If for some reason, you don't notice any improvements after a day or two of using the remedy, switch to a different one (i.e. your 2nd choice) until you find the one that works.

TEETHING
- Teething is associated with drooling, pain, and discomfort. There are several natural options you can do to help your baby feel better!
- Chamomilla: Made from the herb chamomile, this is the #1 teething remedy! Your child may need this if they are irritable, angry, and cannot be consoled. They may also exhibit green, smelly, diarrhea. Chamomilla will take the edge off while soothing and comforting your infant.
- Calcarea Carbonica: For the flabby, chilly baby with a sweaty head at night;
- Calendula Gel: Usually clears up any face rash associated with teething.
- Note: Why not give your infant aspirin or Tylenol? - Aspirin is related to rye syndrome and thins blood, and Tylenol is known to affect liver enzymes. They also affect the HCL acidity of the stomach which can cause acid reflux, digestive disorders, flu, colds, and viruses - among other things.
- Coffea cruda: Baby is in a wide awake, in a tense state, and is very sensitive. The nervous system is especially oversensitive to noises. The infant is in a lot of pain.
- Phytolacca: The baby is clenching the jaws, and whatever teeth may be coming through, together. Baby is worse from warm drinks. Digging pains, if baby could talk to describe them.
- Hepar sulph: Mouth and gums are hypersensitive to touch. Pus or boils in gums with eruption of teeth.
- Kreosotum: The teeth come in rotten, or when they erupt they show signs of decay. Dentination is painful and difficult. Restless sleep.
- Note: You'll want the #10 size pellets to dissolve under baby's tongue.
DIAPER RASH
- First, get rid of the wet diaper.
- Expose area to air.
- Chamomilla (see above) is great for fussy babies.
- Calendula Gel: (See above) soothes and heals the rash area.
BEDWETTING
- Belladonna: Dribbles urine in his sleep when cold or chilled; stubborn; nervous; restless; talks in his sleep; has wild dreams;
- Lycopodium: Passes large quantities of urine especially in warm room; fearful child; fears trying new things; worries what others think of him; goes frequently in the day; wants the window open;
- Natrum Muriaticum (or Nat Mur): Passes urine involuntarily while walking or coughing; bashful urination; craves salty or tasty foods;
- Phosophorous: Copious, colorless urine; fears ghosts, thunder, dark, and being alone; affectionate, bright child; craves salty foods and ice cream.
- Pulsatilla: Offensive smelling urine, lying on back causes urge to urinate;
- Sulphur: Copious, colorless urine, cannot wait, even running water creates the urge; sleeps with feet sticking out or tosses the covers;
- Other tips: Get rid of milk because it irritates the bladder and no drinking past 6:00pm!

Megan,
I have enjoyed reading your articles, they are interesting & informative. I do have a question about a homeopathic remedy--what would be good for a urinary tract infection.
We switched health insurance plans within the same company and since I had been to dr. for a uti within the past year, they put a rider on my coverage for uti, now I have to treat them myself. Any advice you have would be welcome.

The emotional ROOT of a urinary tract infection: Anxiety, holding on to old ideas, fear of letting go, and being "pissed off," usually at the opposite sex, (i.e. spouse). Sometimes we blame the person we are "pissed off" at. Address the emotional cause...cure the bladder infection. :)
Until then, here are some great remedies:
An AWESOME herb for a urinary tract infection is UVA URSI. Cranberry juice without sugar and parsley tea also work well.
Homeopathics include:
Aconite: A sudden retention of urine from chill or fright, painful urination, scanty, red, hot urine, anxiety on beginning to urinate. Also indicated for cystitis.
Apis: burning and soreness when urinating, scanty urine.
Berberis: Burning pains, pains deep inside kidneys extending into bladder, sensation as if some urine remaining after urinating, backache.
Cantharis: Persistent and violent urging, passing a few drops at a time, pain in small of back, burning pains, also indicated for cystitis.
Mercurius corrosivus: Persistent urging with intense burning, constant urging and straining, need to go and can't, unfulfilled need to urinate, urine may have small amount of blood, perspiration after urinating; Also indicated for cystitis.
Nux vomica: Frequent and painful urging with little result.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for this information. My husband's grandmother has been having frequent UTI's. I am going to pass this info along to my mother-in-law.
